The Executive Committee of the Kentucky Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects offers an annual Student Design Awards Program. The purpose of the program is to recognize excellence within the states flagship program at the University of Kentucky; to provide a forum for the review and evaluation of work currently shaping the next generation of landscape architects; and to highlight achievements in research, exploration and conceptual design to a wide audience.
The Design Awards Program is open to students in the University of Kentucky’s Department of Landscape Architecture program.
There is only one category, Student Work, and each individual project will be reviewed individually based on its own merit.
Students of all classes/age groups are encouraged to enter.
Student ASLA members can submit projects with no charge (typically $25 per entry) (learn about joining ASLA by clicking HERE)
Student Projects can be given one of three awards:
Award of Excellence: Reserved for the highest achieving project in a given year if deemed appropriate. Award of Excellence is not always given out.
Honor Award: Project Exceptional quality and depth of work
Merit Award: High quality of work
Students can submit multiple projects and students can submit after graduation given that the work was completed as part of course work at the University of Kentucky.
